ENERGY PRODUCTION PROJECT
The Hòa Bình hydropower plant is located on the Black River in Hòa Bình province.
It was the largest hydropower plant in Vietnam and Southeast Asia until 2010, when the So’n La dam was built.
Power is generated using 8 turbines, each rated at 240 MW.
Its total production capacity is
1 90MW.
Since 2021, and the commissioning of the dam, the plant has produced a total of 230 billion kWh of electricity.
In addition to generating electricity, the dam ensures the stability of the power grid and protects Hanoi and the Red River delta from flooding.
